I have been working on a Pro Tools key command set in Reaper... so far so good but the problem is that the key command set is limited to how I work... Things like slicing a track are Cmd+E instead of the Reaper default. Cmd+= opens the mixer window, Cmd+[ or Cmd+] for horizontal zoom in/out. But there are some things that can't be done in Reaper, but they are small and unnecessary - i.e. selecting several tracks and automatically incrementing their inputs etc... this of course can be done at track creation, but I haven't really explored a way to change them as Pro Tools would. Stretching a "clip" or "region" is using the mouse at the edge of the clip, as in Pro Tools, with the keystroke Cmd+Option added. I am not sure if that is standard in Reaper or if I added/modified it, but that's what it is for me. Eventually, as in the next month or so, I did plan to upload a package to the stash that would be for those who are switching over from Pro Tools - or use both. I use both so it really makes sense for me to do this. But it is more than a keystroke map... it is also mouse modifiers, preferences etc... these all are combines to make Reaper act a bit more like Pro Tools so that it is not so foreign to new users but more importantly, I do not have to memorize a second set of commands for everything (yay REAPER!!) I have been using REAPER for roughly two years now.... Mostly on and off - I could never fully commit because I wasn't sure how capable Reaper was in really fully replacing Pro Tools for professional audio mixing (which seems to be what I do most). BUT, with the addition of Reapers cleverly named Stretch Mark(er)s, I am at a time/place that I could fully switch. In fact my newest mixing projects are Reaper now :-) - ANYWAY my point is this - REAPER is capable of doing so many advanced things... maybe Pro TOols can do them, or in a more general way, Reaper rerally lets you get in there and super customize it. Out of the box though it can seem feature lacking... in reality it is quite the opposite. E
