This weekend (weather permitting) i want to attempt to remove my throttle body from my 1999 gdi for a damn good over due clean out! The problem facing me first is to depressurise the fuel system as when i took the fuse out that the manual suggests to do my fuel filter on a previous occassion, the engine seemed to keep running, and after about 10 mins i just turned it off and replaced the filter without depressurising it. I want to do it properly this time and if anyone could give me any tips on this subject, i would be very grateful. I am sure my manual is correct but its not too clear? Any tips on taking it off and cleaning procedures would be welcome too as dont want to do something wrong!! Many thanks for any response
