Still waiting this feature to be added for a very long time , I don't like to use other tools to backup my own DVD , but sometimes I'm in need of reduce menu's bitrate and I have to do it with , for ex. , NuMenu. I'm not saying it is not good , but I don't really like the way it handles bitrate distribution and I think DVD-RB handles it the best way ever . So jdobbs , how much will we have to wait to see this feature ? Anyway, take this post as a thank-giving for all your efforts and an encouragement to keep working on this great piece of code I full trusted by its very early days !!! Bye , TuRiSOft !!!

I'm wondering what you don't like about NuMenu's bitrate distribution? I agree that a global VBR isn't grandular enough to account for the often great fluctuation in menu bitrates, but I like the quality based VBR encoding menthod. Of course that has problems of size predictability, but NuMenu doesn't have to worry about that.

Good post Apfraats. A fee for a substantial upgrade does not seem unfair. I only wish that DVD-Lab enjoyed a similar pricing and upgrade philosophy because I think Lab and Rebuilder complement each other. I don't like the security key methods used by Rebuilder and Remake, but I can understand the reason for them and I hope the authors find it financially worth the extra hassle. I too would like to see Rebuilder keep expanding. Isn't it strange that a country like Holland (or is it the Netherlands - I don't really know the difference) has such a relaxed and liberal interpretation of many laws that are strictly enforced in other places? Yet Dutch people seem to have a more responsible attitude than most, and instinctively tend to do what is morally right. People get more bloody-minded with every new repressive law so that fairness and decency seem to take a back seat on both sides. More legislation only produces more new criminals that then leads to more legislation. I wonder why the multinational corporations don't realise that. Perhaps they should read "How to Make Friends and Influence People" instead of, apparently, "How to Make Enemies and Influence Governments". Long may the independent developers reign! Er.. Sorry if I'm preaching. :o
