Latency question on amp sims

I have a quick question about amp sim effects and latency. Would you get less latency if you put the effects directly on the input FX area instead of DI being sent to an FX channel? I know you would lose your DI by doing this, but I'm curious if it would give less latency?

Don't know for sure, but I doubt it.

Not if you still want to hear the result of the SIM while playing.

Don't add any masterbus fx though, as PDC would be added to the loopback latency, and it might eat into your "rt cpu" too.
