Hello. I downloaded and installed Reaper on my studio computer tonite. I am a long time CW Sonar user, and because CW Sonar had problems, I have decided to switch to Reaper. So I wanted to introduce myself and apologize in advance for the obvious questions I will be asking tonite and into the future. So onto the questions: 1) Reaper must have a demo project somewhere I can download to make sure the software is working and audio and midi playback is occurring as it should. Where can I find such a demo project? 2) When I save a project in Reaper, where does it get saved? If I save an audio file, where does that get saved? 3) There is probably a configuration page I can access to tell Reaper what audio drivers to use, what sample rate and bit depth to use, where to find plug-in .dlls, etc. How do I access the configuration page? I have downloaded the User Manual .pdf file, so if the answers to these questions can be found in the Users Manual, feel free to tell me "It's in the Users Manual fool, look it up." (I admit it, I haven't looked in the Users Manual yet.) Oh, and I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum. I need to familiarize myself with the web-site. Thanks.

Thank you Karbomusic, Glennbo, and Nicholas for your helpful replies. Tomorrow I will sit down for some quality time with Reaper and the User Manual. Glennbo, I am very interested in the plug-in that will allow me to load my Sonar projects in Reaper. I have a fair number of Sonar projects, and I have been dreading the work I have to do to bring those projects into Reaper. It would be a tremendous benefit for me if I can automate this task; if it works well, this would be like Christmas for me. So this plug-in is legit? no viruses? works well? cost?

Hi BbAltered It really is worth taking the time to watch all thirty of Kenny Gioia's REAPER Explained videos. I'm still picking REAPER up really, even though I have had it since 2015. I have since started using REAPER again because Studio One isn't working very well with my new Surface Pro, hence my current dive into REAPER. Watch all of them... Only took me around ten days or so, but you could binge watch them in a couple. If you miss one, because you think it doesn't apply to what you do, you could miss a gem. cheers andy

Next topic: QTGMC only works if I use ConvertToYV12 on my 1080i HDTV recorded files, why?
