if you put the car on axle stands you can get underneath it and kick the inside of the wheel away from the car... bearing in mind what could happen ensure your stands are fitted well and you have a assistant observing the situation.... cheers jod

When I replaced the discs on my V70 and S60 I did not have to take the large hub nut off or loosen it. Only un-screwed the pointed screw that locates the wheel, I think it had a 11 or 12 mm head. Removed the brake calliper and the disc came of with a light bump with a hide mallet.

I have checked in the Haynes book and the disc should come off the way I have described. The hub does not need undone and there is only the spigot screw to undo.

Hi Mike I couldn't do the job originally because I work through an agency, pay as you go so to speak, I don't go I don't get paid and being not on a brilliant wage I have on average have to work 60-70 hours a week to get stuff taken care of. The last thing on my mind after a 70 hour week is..woohooo lets do some more work during my few hours off. That cleared up your guide was helpfull, but as my thread pointed out I had done all of those but still the disc would not leave the hub and that was my request for help
